Actor Keanu Reeves has a unique story about his first motorbike and his dream. Who would have thought the first motorbike he owned was made in Japan.
The motorbike is a Kawasaki KLR 650 enduro motorbike. Quoted by Biscuit Motor, Keanu Reeves was desperate to buy this motorbike because he fell in love at first sight.
Interestingly he actually felt it at the age of 22 years. Precisely when he was shooting a film in Germany.
“I was shooting at a film studio in Munich, Germany. At that time I saw a young woman riding an enduro motorbike. One day, I asked her to teach me to ride that motorbike,” recalled Keanu Reeves quoted by Motor Biscuit.
As soon as he could ride a motorbike, the actor in the John Wick film was addicted. Whenever the motorbike is not used by the owner, he immediately rides it around the studio.
“As soon as I returned to Los Angeles, United States. I bought the same motorbike,” explained Keanu Reevies.
From there, the Kawasaki KLR 650 became the first motorbike owned by Keanu Reeves. It is known that the Kawasaki KLR 650 is a dual purpose motorcycle that was produced in 1984.
The motorbike is equipped with a 651 cc DOHC single cylinder engine. The bike was created as an answer for people who can’t afford the BMW F650GS adventure bike which is very expensive.
Since owning that motorbike, Keanu Reeves has become an avid collector of other motorbikes. Motor Biscuits said that after the Kawasaki KLR 650, the actor who was born on September 2, 1964 bought Norton Commando 1971, Norton Commando 1973, and several motorbikes from Suzuki and Harley-Davidson.
Even though he has collected many motorbikes, there is still a dream motorbike that Keanu Reeves doesn’t have yet. The bike was a 1955 Vincent Black Shadow motorcycle.
“Right now I mostly ride Arch Motorcycles. I’ve always dreamed of owning a Vincent Black Shadow. A motorbike that has always been everyone’s dream,” explained Keanu Reeves.
It is known that the Vincent Black Shadow motorbike is a phenomenal classic motorbike. As the name implies, Vincent Black Shadow has a black color according to the word Black in his name.
This motorbike also has a very unconventional chassis architecture for its time. This is due to the absence of a down tube and the design of the engine mount which is not like the motorbikes of its time.
The design of the chassis, this motorbike engine is not assembled in one chassis, but is made to hang with a holder that is at the top of the machine.
But behind this, Vincent Black Shadow uses a 1,000 cc V-Twin engine that can produce 55 horsepower.
